# Stargate SG-1 12/23

I’m not normally a fan of SG-1, but i’m LOVING this episode, a well crafted lampooning of every modern Sci-Fi genre show, ST-TOS, The Wizard of Oz, Ewoks (that _FINALLY_ get what they deserve…), and best of all…

Claudia Black and Ben Browder in full Farscape regalia, with Chiana, Stark, and Rygel (one of the Asgard) onboard Moya, shot down as “too hard to believe”

And now, the SG1 crew is rendered as Team America style puppets, BWAHAHA!!!

this one’s a well crafted episode, i _will_ be downloading this one off iTunes store…

Agreed. I got a great chuckle out of the Farscape nod.

This show’s ability to laugh at itself in between the serious bits is great.

the Farscape reference portion;

Claudia to the tv exec; “we were on a 3 hour reconnisanse mission”  
Exec; 3 hour mission, that’s “Gilligan’s Island”, if you’re going to rip off something, rip off something _obscure_…  
…  
Claud; okay, obscure…  
\<jump cut to the interior of a Moya-esque set, Ben and Claudia in full Crichton and Aeryn getup\>  
Claudia; \<panicked\>call me fahrbot, but they’re going to have our mivonks on a platter if we don’t…\<Ben grabs her passionately\>…Starburst the draz out of here…  
Ben \<unintelligble\>has been damaged, we’re not going anywhere  
\<camera pans right to Samantha Carter in full Chiana makeup/clothing, she walks in a very “Chiana-ey” way to Teal’c (dressed as D’Argo, minus the Tankas)\>  
Sam; Oh, Dren!  
Teal’C; Hezmana!  
\<ship shakes, pyro goes off backstage, snap pan left\>  
Claud; Frell!  
Stark (not sure the SG-1 staffer though) Son of a Hezmot!  
Rygel (one of the Asgard) Yotz!

TV Producer; okay, you got me, i have no idea what that is…

IIRC, Michael Shanks appears as Crichton in the spoof, and Ben Browder is playing one of the other characters.

Y’know, I’ve dismissed Claudia Black as “cool ugly” but she has her moments on SG1 of being completely hot.

You guys are talking about a re-run right? The 100th episode, or 200th, or whatever it was?

When does the season pick up again? January, like everything else?

Anyway, yes. I love Stargate. When the new, gritty, dark Battlestar Galactica gives me an ookey episode I can always sit back with good old reliable Stargate and a big bowl of Mac & cheese to make me feel better.

that’d explain why Stark seemed rather “Crichton-esque” in that scene, now that i know BB isn’t playing Crichton, he’s _gotta_ be good ol’ “Fweakin’ insane” Stark

Sam makes a good Pip too…
