Iā€™m curious, and hopeful. Claudia Black seemed to play a sort of bounty hunter/mercenary type person. One of my favorite episodes was the one when SG-1 got captured by that bounty hunter, the one whose species couldnā€™t be parasitized by the Goaā€™uld, and was addicted to some weird drug. Will Claudia Blackā€™s character turn out to be from that race? That would be too cool. Or is she just another boring old human from someplace or other? ---

I donā€™t really get her. I hate the whole ā€œhot chick bounty hunter/criminalā€ thing. Is she famous for some other reason than SG-1? Because the last time they aired that episode (where she stole Hammondā€™s spaceship), the commercialā€™s narrator specifically mentioned ā€œā€¦featuring Claudia Black.ā€ ---

Well Ben Browder is coming in as a regular character, so it will be interesting to see how they play the characters against each other. Also, apparently RDA (the Oā€™neal character) isnā€™t going to be a major character in season 9 (taking over the in-show job of homeland security, the spot that Gen. Hammond held). So wonder what this is going to do to the showā€™s dynamic. ---

I suppose sheā€™s earned a higher billing than poor old Ben, who I havenā€™t seen do anything since Farscape. Anyway, I hope they reinvigorate the show, as it was getting a bit tired by the end of season 7, and season 8 probably shouldnā€™t have even happened. Somehow the show got renewed and the whole season was big ā€œfarewellā€ string of episodes, highlighting each character, bringing back old friends, tying off loose ends, etc. If it werenā€™t for a fairly exciting pre-season finale with the Goaā€™uld vs. Replicators, Iā€™d write off the whole season, and gladly see the series end. But now, Iā€™m hopeful theyā€™ll find some new fun to have with new characters, and let the old guys move on. ---

Iā€™m a latecomer to the whole SG-1 series; I caught the first few episodes on SHO when it first debuted, but quickly lost interest. RDAā€™s ā€œOā€™Nielā€ was too much of a ā€œjerkā€ for my tastes, w/o Kurt Russelā€™s ā€œcool factorā€ to somewhat mitigate the Oā€™Neil jerk-factor. But the characters ā€œmaturedā€ and mellowed over the seasons into a fine ensemble, and Iā€™m now semi-hooked on the series, and catching up on it in syndication. And Amanda Tapping is sooooo hot. Between her and Claudia Black, I ainā€™t gonna know which way to look. ROWR! If only Teryl Rothery was still aroundā€¦
