Now, how does one IP get confused with another IP, with both posters involved sounding so damned much like each other?
It could be possible if 2 posters lived in the same town, used the same ISP, and also had dynamic IPs.
Has anyone actually laid eyes on START yet? I’m hoping this isn’t one of those McMurphy deals. Remember how we all thought he was faking, and then the Chief had to put him out of his misery? :eek:

I’m not saying this is the case here, but just speculating as to how much it’s possible to find socks out… were someone to post exclusively under one screen name at work, and exclusively under another at home in a different city entirely, wouldn’t the screen names have two different IPs?
have START & KyleRayner1 been notified of the unbanning and invited back to the board? (i.e emails sent to registered adresses?)
and will their registration periods on the sdmb be extended by appx. 2 months (the length of the bannings?) or possibly even longer, as a good-will gesture, given the error was not that of the posters in question, but that of board administration?

Most definitely, unless both work and home ISPs were the same. In that case both handles would come from the same IP range.
