# Starting a cotoneaster hedge this spring - any advice?

We’re planning a cotoneaster hedge around the front and side of our corner lot this spring, and were wondering if anyone had any advice before we put the plants in. We like a nice, natural-looking hedge, not a tightly pruned one, and we know to put the plants a decent distance back from the sidewalk (we’re going to put them about a meter back, especially since we want to keep them fairly natural, and they are much larger than people may realize), but is there anything else we should be thinking about?
