It probably should be added that your immune system is likely also to be weakened from the effects of starvation, so eating poop may shuffle you off this mortal coil faster, since your body is less able to fight offf the _E. coli_ taking up residence in places it shouldn’t. ---

I remember a camping trip I was on shortly after the movie _Alive_ came out. One of the gals suggested that the female (I supposed she figured none of the fellas were gay) passengers should have sustained themselves by, um, felating the male passengers. Lots of protein in sperm, apparently. She was surprisingly popular for the rest of that trip. (Or, perhaps not surprisingly.) ---

Towards the end of Enemy At The Gates, William Craig relates that after the surrender at Stalingrad, those Italian POWs at the Krinovaya camp reluctant to emark on cannibalism were keeping themselves alive by picking undigested grain out of excrement from huge latrine ditches. Enterprising German POWs then set up a sieve system from empty tins and collected enough grain this way that they had a surplus for the camp black market. Yum yum.
