The funniest part is that the Birthers lost because they demanded a ruling on the merits. Otherwise, they’d have a default judgment they could parade around claiming a win. ---

I can’t cut and paste from the decision, and I’m not going to copy all the funny stuff, but you gotta love this part: “Further, Plaintiffs submit that Mr. Obama has previously held Indonesian citizenship, and he did not use his legal name on his notice of candidacy, which is either Barry Soetoro or Barack Obama Soebarkah.” Soebarkah??? ETA: Do a little googling on that name, and it gets even funnier. ---

If I were Obama, I would’ve asked my lawyer to be there just out of respect (even if misplaced) to the court, and to avoid any default. But all’s well that ends well. ---
