Holy cow. FINEBAUM is winning a journalism award? I take back everything I said in this thread. Alabama is now indefensible. We deserve all the scorn heaped upon us. Wait a minute, though, hang on … it’s the goofballs in New York who are giving him the award, so that’s makes them stupider than us. Okay, I can feel superior again. ---

These Southern-Baiting threads usually make me choke on my own anger; they render me incoherent especially when they are as filled with errors as this thread has been. I am grateful, humble, and proud that we are blessed with posters like **Sampiro** , **Zoe** and others who are knowledgeable, well spoken, and who can keep their tempers and wits about them when confronted not only with ignorance but with willful ignorance; in my view, the very worst kind. Of the many things mentioned and said in this thread, these three stick out with me: 1) **Sampiro** coming up with a name for these things: "_‘I’m an abolitionist and I don’t care who knows it’ threads."_ 1. **LouisB** ’s brilliant use of the term “willful ignorance”. 3) **Zoe** pointing out the amazing fact that a bunch of yankees gave Paul Finebum a journalism award. _WHAT?_ Peace, y’all.
