**GreenBean** , I appreciate your thoughts, as always. (Last January? I’ve seen you several times since then!) But I mean, what I said to **Xeno** was heartfelt, as was the OP. There’s so other outlet for that expression; I would burst if I could not post it; I apologize in advance if it annoys anyone, from here on out I’ll put (political) in the title, so that those who think of these, ok, screeds, as loony, can steer well clear. Interestingly enough, I have voted for several Republicans, know many good ones (as I’ve gone on and on about,) but none of that mitigates my abject fear for this upcoming election. (on the 5th! Nov 5th!) I consider myself Libertarian, at least as much as libertarians have a consistent platform. If there’s anything else you can think of by way of a compromise, do let me know. Hugs, Ace ---

Though I could do without the gaseous rhetoric, I rather agree that one political party in control of all three branches of government is indeed a scary proposition. I doubt our founding fathers intended for this sort of thing to happen when the system of checks and balances was devised. Republicans have successfully managed to appeal to the base and visceral in many of us, and in tough, scary times like these, there’s little thought given to the altruism Democrats are known (or wish to be known) for. I really wish that a full understanding of American History and Civics was a prerequisite for voting, but of course, requiring knowledge is discriminatory and so this is what we have to live with, a Dumbarchy. The armbands are in the mail… ---
