I found it interesting that it says “several patrons complained of being “misled” about the subject matter”. Assuming the editorial is accurate on that respect, it’s clear now why they did what they did. The still did it in a dumb way, but their concern that non-Mormon Christians would see it and complain wasn’t unfounded.
That’s a pretty silly comment, Revtim.
Not sure what you mean. Do you think the editorial is wrong/lying, and they didn’t get complaints? Or that that wasn’t their motivition for asking their stupid question?
I guess what I should say is that it’s pretty silly of them to think that’s okay, Revtim. Sorry about the wording.
I wondered who actually did the advertising and decided to call it a Christian film. It probably wasn’t the theater. If that’s the case they could have directed their complainers to the proper folks. If the theater chose their own wording couldn’t they choose something else? Something about God that is non denominational. The verbal warning was just a bad call.
How is it not a Christian flick?
No problem Monty. I agree, it’s still not OK, even though they got complaints.
It is a Christian film. But they probably should have specified “Mormon Christian”, or “LDS Christian”.
I agree. But, they would need to be less obvious. I think they should have added a blurb to the posters, and to the illuminated banners hung in the ticket booth and above the theater entrance. OTTOMH
Latter Day Sheep Among Wolves
Preaching The Full Testament
Aaronic Priests Among Lamanites
The first two would definitely have people asking questions. The last might be two obscure.
What’s OTTOMH? See, it’s already generating questions!
