I read somewhere (here?) that the average penis length is 6.14 inches. I’m not real short, but alas, I don’t measure up. So I’d like to take some small comfort that I at least fall within a standard deviation – does anyone have any idea what the distribution of penis lengths looks like? I also read about penis girth measurements, and to be honest, I haven’t measured that. I think I’m a bit on the thick side. Any ideas about the distribution of penis girth? ---

Average only means there was one that was two inches & another that was 10", so the average is 6". You dont really think that mens penises are 6" long do you? ---

Two ways to go about this: on one hand, you can refer to surveys with a large sample size, or a more precise clinically-measured study with a smaller sample size. Going the former route, such as in Kinsey’s and online surveys, we find and average of slightly above 6 inches (6.15 in Kinsey’s case). Average circumference is slightly less than 4 inches (or 3.86 for Kinsey’s data). Studies where doctors actually measured the appendages with rulers come of with somewhat smaller measurements. One publication that measured 80 men who came into a urology clinic gives a much shorter average length of 12.9 cm. (5.03 in.) Here’s a Medline cite: H. Wessells, T. F. Lue, J. W. McAninch. (1996). Penile length in the flaccid and erect states: Guidelines for penile augmentation, Journal of Urology, Vol. 156, 995-997. [I’d dig up some more references, but its getting late] In the end, does it really matter? 90% of men fall within the range of 5 to 7 inches. If it helps you to figure this out, JoltSucker, I only have personal knowledge of 3 men. The bottom line for me is: as long as it’s under about 7-8 inches, it’s ok. ANything over that isn’t getting within 10 feet of my body. In the men I have known, the shortest (and sweetest, I might add) was 4.5", one was almost 5", one at 5.3", a few more in the 5-6" range, and the whopper at 8". As long as you can use it correctly, length is no problem. ---
