I need to find some statistics for a speech I will be giving in school next week. I want to know things like the nimber of animals: in shelters, put to sleep, adopted each year. But my searches on animal rescue and shelthers turned up several hundred pages, and I don’t have the time to go through them all. I anyone knows of a page that could help me out, I would be very appriciative.

Believe it or not, live human beings still exist outside the Internet. I would suggest you pick up the phone and call your local chapter of the Humane Society. They can probably help you.

In fact, our local Humane Society keeps these exact statistics on a large white board over their main reception desk. It always makes me want to take home about ten animals, just to keep them from being killed.
