Although I went out last night, it seems most people these days prefer to stay in for New Year’s Eve. If you did so what did you watch? ---

I was playing Civ III, and wiping out the Mayans, who STARTED it. And then the leader groveled and begged for mercy. HA! And the Romans are gonna be next, if they don’t stop demanding “homage”. Bloodthirsty? Me? It’s always the other guys who actually declare war…😉 ---

I fell asleep waiting for _The Apartment_ to come on (I can hardly believe it’s been a year since I saw it last), but I woke up in time to watch most of the classic _Ocean’s Eleven._ I spent the next couple of hours futzing around the kitchen with _Made for Each Other_ (Jimmy Stewart, Carole Lombard, 1939) on in the background. How that guy flew from Utah to New York in an open biplane, in the middle of a winter storm and in time to save the kid’s life, is beyond me… :rolleyes: ---

Slept until 21:30. Had dinner with family and in-laws (an eccletic mix of KFC and Chinese food). Champagne and the traditional 12 grapes at midnight and then fireworks. ---

We finished our 3 month rewatch of the West Wing with the last 4 episodes of season 7 last night. Normally we’re out NYE but we caught the cottage crud over Christmas from either my son’s girlfriend or my niece and it was a much better plan to stay snug in bed watching TV. Damn kids. ---

I got home from work around 11:55. At midnight I was surfing the Dope and chowing down on In And Out. Earlier in the evening I had my laptop at work and watched _The Thrill of it All!_ and _Magical Mystery Tour on DVD_ and then switched to youtube to see _The Dancing Outlaw_ and _Jesco White Hellbilly_. ---

I was sick and had to stay in, so I watched MTV’s New Year’s Eve show because Ke$ha performed live almost immediately after the ball dropped.
