You know, this weekend a buddy of mine was giving me a bunch of shit about how I’m such a dork and my SO is so damned beautiful, and how in the hell did I pull that off? I said I was lucky, and I am, but when I really thought about it I realized it’s not for the reasons he thinks. It’s because she’s smart, and funny, and thoughtful, and she makes me laugh out loud every day. _That’s_ what attracted me to her, and I think that something similar has got be what attracts her to me, because my friend isn’t lying about me being a dork. If you could drop that woman’s heart and mind into a gumball machine I’d still worship her–hell, I’d be robbing toll booths for a living. The fact that she can stop the conversation in a bar simply by walking into it is just icing on the cake. ---

From my personal experience, I’ve definitely “gotten more girls”, so to speak, after gone into kickboxing and lost a lot of weight. However, I don’t think it’s good looks alone that gets you girls, but rather makes it easier to initially meet girls. Once that happens, though, it requires a good personality to carry it on. Does that make sense? ---

Confidence and knowing your self-worth is very attractive. If I meet a man who isn’t tall and buff, but he’s still confident and walks like he’s the best of the best, then I’m interested. What’s he got? Might I want to find out? I dated cops, firefighters, personal trainers, etc., all the yummy types and married my chubby-bunny computer geek because he’s smart, makes me laugh happily every day and sees the real me and still likes me, princessy ways and all. **Drachiilix** walked into that restaurant like a king, spotted me and his face lit up. He didn’t act like I was out of his leauge which meant he was a man worth something, even though he was and is very fluffy. I kind of worked the Rules on him and he jumped through a few little hoops, but never took shit from me. The day I tried to work his jealous buttons was one of the scariest for me—he said if I went out with another man, he could go out with other women. ( “Wait! I take it back! Women still call him and show up at the door! He’s MINE! Get away from him, you bitches!” raced through my mind). I demurely agreed that dating others was counterproductive to our growing relationship. We were married a year later. He still walks like he owns the world and knows how to rock mine. ---
