I’ve been in Houston since Tuesday, travelling with my boss. He doesn’t like seafood, or Tex Mex, or Japanese, and so on. He likes steak and chicken. That’s pretty much it.

Tuesday night we ate at Outback.
Wednesday night we ate at Outback.
Last night we ate at The Capital Grille.

I usually eat steak about once a month, so I’ve ingested my quota through October. I feel like I’ve got cement in my belly. 😃

You’re surrounded by Tex Mex galore and Galveston seafood is practically throwing itself into your mouth and begging to be devoured… Can’t you just dump his sorry ass in an Outback and eat on your own?

That’s the way to do it. Tell Bossman to eat on his own, and go revel in Tex-Mex.

Easier said than done. We only rented one car and he’s driving. 🙂

I’d recommend checking the hotel goft shop for metamucil. You’re going to wish you had taken some!
Seriously, I feel for you. All that great food and you’re stuck with this clod. There just has to be a place where you can get both!

I took a bus in Houston once. It was OK. Well, I wouldn’t do it again, but for Tex Mex I would.

After 3 days of a bacon sandwich bender I don’t need anymore today. It was good while the craving lasted. I’m not sick of it, the craving is just gone.🙂

We’re gonna spend the afternoon at the airport, sitting in Pappadeaux, drinking beer, waiting for our flight to go. I think they have somethign besides steak…

Yeah, I’m not really crazy about using public transportation in strange cities. The only city outside Boston in which I’ve _ever_ ridden a bus is London.

Outback has non-steak items on the menu, last I checked…

Well, I’ve taken public transport in probably 50 unfamiliar cities around the world over the years, but Houston was the most… interesting. I was riding the bus with an attractive 17-year-old girl and some of the people on the bus were overly interested in her. Some of them on the outside of the bus were overly interested in her too. We were a little bit concerned as to which was the best place to be, so we just sat there staring forwards and ignoring everyone until we got to our destination, then ran.

No they don’t. They changed the menu, and now everything is made from steak - even the chicken.

I’ve had pretty good crab legs there before. They have some kind of chopped blue cheese salad that’s really good too. Anyway I sympathise with you being a food slave for the duration of your trip. I’d be fantasizing about where I was going to go eat when I got home.
That being said, have you tried the porterhouse? Outback porterhouse is delicious.

I’ve soooooooo been there, **Winston Smith**. Here we are in [city with wonderful regional and/or international restaurants]. So let’s go eat steak at Outback. Oh, you want ethnic? Look! They have an Olive Garden! How lucky is that!

For some reason I thought this thread would be about a device that bends steaks, like blinker fluid or prop wash.

Knowing the OP and the thread title I figured some place cooked steaks in a George Foreman type grill that left them shaped in a big U. Why do this? I don’t know. Maybe so they can serve you mashed potatoes and onions stuffed in a meat pocket.

Do you have a newsletter I could subscribe to?

More importantly, three nights in Houston and two of them are spent at an Outback? As a recovering Texan, I can assure you there had to be at least three better, non-chain steakhouses within spitting distance of anyplace in town.

Try the blackened catfish and dirty rice. I’m told it’s not New Orleans good, but it was pretty tasty.
