Looks like Divinity: Original Sin is on sale now, even if only for 33% off. Awesome game and anybody buying it gets the upcoming extended edition for free AFAIK. I especially loved the co-op feature - coordinating turn-based combat with my friend half a world away with just the in-game text chat was hilarious at times. ---

…ARRRRRGHHH. I’ve got to stop checking out the sales. I’ve already got 6 games in my library I’ve never played that have been sitting there for a few years. And I’ve just added The Orange Box and Bioshock Triple Pack. That’s effectively eight games for twenty NZ dollars. I remember I was the only kid in school that used to actually buy my games for the Amiga 500 and the average price per game was $140.00. It is incredible to me that I can now buy quality games for less than the price of a cup of coffee. ---

Everytime Steam has a sale, I get pissy about how terrible their actual store interface is. “Show me all the games that are on sale for under $5!” “No can do boss, all I can do is show you all the games that are priced under $5 currently, on sale or no. Oh, and it’ll include a pile of free to play games that you can’t filter out.” #%#%#$%. At this point, I am actively hoping for the death of this platform in favor of something that actually has basic features. Sadly, none of the others do either. Humble Store comes closer, but they don’t have a wishlist. DON’T HAVE A WISHLIST. What is this? 1996? ---

Ugh, Rome 2 is only $15. It’s been $15 since Black Friday. I’ve been thinking it’d be $7.50 pretty soon, so I decided to wait for it. And now 9 months later it didn’t fall. And I’d feel kinda dumb picking it up for the same price I’d have gotten it for 9 months ago, so I guess I probably have to keep waiting. The Verdun game looks interesting, I wonder how far along it is in development. I’m thinking of picking up Asetto Corsa as a serious racing sim, any opinions? Doorkickers is an instant buy for $5. Top-down rainbow 6 goodness. System shock 2 is $1. Did anyone ever make a modern renderer that you can use with it, like has been done with some classic games like Deus Ex? ---

Goddammit!!! **Sunless Sea** actually went UP in price! I keep buying mythos games hoping some AAA developer will take a hint. I’m certain there’s a market for a good lovecraftian crpg. One that’s not a shooter with a horror skin. **System Shock 2** is only a buck. I’m definitely getting that just for nostalgia’s sake. ---

Probably won’t affect most of you here since I think most of you are normal people and not crazy card idlers/sellers but Valve has changed their trading card drop so you won’t get a drop for the first two hours. This is to prevent people from idling a game for cards to sell then requesting a refund on the game. You can still idle games for cards, of course, but you’ll burn up your refund grace period doing so. So if you get a new game and wonder why it doesn’t drop trading cards… that’s probably what’s happening. ---

Which of the **Total War** games is the best for a beginner? Story matters also. Whichever I buy will be my last purchase for the summer. I tried the one on the American continent but didn’t like it very much. I’m leaning towards **Shogun 2** or **Rome 2**. ---

I’ve never used a controller or joystick for gaming, believe it or not, so don’t really have the coordination or practice to use one effectively. I may need one for this game.
