Haven’t played Gemini Wars, but was looking at this [review of FTL](http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/ftl-faster-than-light/1226095p1.html) and am seriously considering it. The graphics look a bit dated, but it seems like it would be a fun game to play. ---

Goodness, I wasn’t planning on buying anything, but here it is on day 1 and I’ve already got 5 games in my cart - all old or oldish games for a buck or two each. If you’re thinking about getting one of the Tropicos: I find 4 is very easy. That also means it’s less frustrating compared to 3, which was a problem at times. I assume this is a general winter sale thread, so we can post other deals here. Probably only amazon will have some deals as good as steam. [Gamersgate’s end of the year sale](http://www.gamersgate.com/?aff=ggnews)started. Sony Online Entertainment is going to have a rare triple cash day, where you can buy 3x as many of their station points for cash that you normally would. Good for all their f2p and freemium games. Which I wouldn’t normally care about, except [Planetside 2](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=672879) may be the funnest game I’ve played in a decade, you should give it a try and buy some SC tomorrow (friday) if you like it, cause this is as good as it’ll get. I’m blowing my whole christmas game budget on it. As per usual in these sales, don’t buy anything that isn’t a daily/flash sale until the next day. If you buy a game for 33% off now, and it’s 60% off tomorrow, well, no one to blame but yourself.
