[Steel wins](http://www.flixxy.com/golf-ball-slow-motion.htm). 70,000 frames per second, shown in slow motion. Incredible amount of deformity in the golf ball. The golf ball was literally flat for a few frames Pro player swing speeds are typically at around 115-120 mph. ---

This must be particularly interesting to Dopers. We went through this a few months ago, with the same high-speed video (although from a different site): [http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=564282&highlight=golf+ball+high+speed](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=564282&highlight=golf+ball+high+speed) It _is_ fascinating. I am familiar with the same phenomenon from some of “Doc” Edgerton’s strobe photos from decades earlier, but the high-speed video is much more graphic and much cooler. ---
