This [full, 40 minute](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVPlMM_aSn4) video of a small town Michigan public access show features the surprise host of Stephen Colbert and a surprise guest that I won’t spoil. The entire thing is just all sorts of amazing and I just say gobsmacked throughout the program. For anyone jonesing for their Colbert fix or who wants a preview of what The Late Show is going to be, it’s a must watch video!

I watched the whole thing too. Very cool! A mix of _The Colbert Report_ and _Between Two Ferns_. I guess that’s a sneak peak of what “the real Colbert” is like…not political but still charming.

It really started off well. It was odd to be laughing out loud at a great joke and not have an audience also laughing. It’s great for a laugh track-free sitcom. But I’m not used to it in a talk show format.
But the Eminem interview just sank. In particular, Colbert’s clueless pretense questioning failed miserably.
I really, really hope that this isn’t going to be the schtick for _The Late Show_.
