California lawyer checking in here. I think her lawyer was wrong, and this was a crime to record the session. I have doubts as to admissibility.

So, it kind of sucks that his wife did something illegal because even if she has to accept legal consequences for her actions, his career is still ruined.

I have sympathy for him because ostensibly if he was talking about this in therapy, he felt some degree of remorse and/or willingness to change.

I have less sympathy for her because she obviously wasn’t bothered enough by it to do anything but sit on the info for years and then later use it for revenge. I really consider that the worst kind of betrayal.

Also, according to this, she didn’t file for divorce. He did.

Grant told E! News in May 2012 that she was blindsided by the divorce filing – even though they had been separated since February 2012.

However, she did say that she thought he had “narcissistic personality disorder with sociopathic tendencies” so it wasn’t love and kisses all around.

Unfortunately, something like this may still happen. His career is over. One of the articles I read said he was cleared of the charges in 2012. I wonder why nothing came out then or earlier when these molestations happened? He was never a huge star but he’s been around for a while, you’d think if there were charges brought against him it would have leaked sooner.

I believe the allegations weren’t made at the time. It was reported decades later. I’ll have to go back and try to find it but I believe he was “cleared” because of the statute of limitations. He wasn’t cleared so much as they couldn’t prosecute by law.

I don’t in any way excuse or condone what he has done, but from everything I have heard (not much granted, but still some), this divorce was bitter and I don’t believe for a second her hands are clean in this.
