It was wonderful to read the comments on that post of his. I don’t quite glean what happened from it, though. Apparently Monty Python asked him to appear on one of their shows? Recently?

That was part of the recent Monty Python farewell show they did in London. Eric Idle and Brian Cox have been friends for a while now - Idle wrote a theme song for Cox’s radio show “The Infinite Monkey Cage” - and of course, Brain Cox and Stephen Hawking know each other what with both being famous physicists and whatnot.
Oh, and that was actually a Hawking stunt double in the video, though it was done with his approval, and that was his actual “voice”.
I probably know a bit more than is healthy about British comedy these days.
