SmileyDeath, I’m assuming you’re speaking of Different Seasons (which would be DS, not DF)? The ending of Breathing Lessons, IMHO, was not metaphor. It was about a young lady so determined to do something, that not even death could stop her. This is the kind of thing King does a lot: really strange stuff happens in his stories, and one of the things that makes it horror, is the ‘why’ is never explained. I love it!
