# Stephen King's Dark Tower movie discussion. Spoilers.

The Dark Tower is going to be adapted to the big screen. So far Idris Elba has been cast as Roland and Matthew McConaughey is going to portray The Man in Black. Both of them seem like excellent choices. This article has just come out, however, and I am concerned about what it means for the direction the director is taking.

I am not familiar with Abbey Lee, but my concern is over the roll she is playing. Who is Tirana, and why is she “a lead role?” I’m hoping this means that they are making parts 8 through 14 rather than 1 through 7, and that they do it well. What do you all think?

Well…that certainly changes the racial dynamic between Roland and Odetta Holmes / Detta Walker.

Actually, King apparently spells it “honky mahfah” (white devil).
