Stereotypes that you have often found to be true

Interesting, as around here (and elsewhere I would assume) an “Irish exit/Irish goodbye” is when you leave without saying goodbye to anyone.

I’ve heard of Irish twins, I’ve heard of Irish sunglasses, but I’ve never heard about an Irish goodbye.

Working years ago with a banker from Basle (German speaking part of Switzerland), he said he doesn’t stand Germans since they had no sense of humor :smack:

It may be a Northeastern US regionalism, but I’ve heard of it. It’s an Italian/Jewish stereotype to start saying goodbye 30-60 minutes before you actually leave. Although it’s entirely possible that the “Irish goodbye” developed as a way to avoid the “pocketbook ceremony”
