Him being a martyr to the MAGA cause will help trump get elected. Contributing to the permanent destruction of the USA will make him happy. Beyond that selfish vindictive satisfaction he hopes to be rewarded somehow for that. Whether directly by trump, or greater monetizeable internet celebrity, or as part of the newly founded “Patriot’s Brigades” which will soon encompass anyone who struggled against actual democracy and the actual rule of law since trump started his ascent to power in 2014sh. ---

As top Republic leaders bend over backwards to defend Bannon, aren’t any of the unwashed MAGAts wondering, “isn’t that the Build the Wall guy who took us for fools, and then got pardoned for it by trump?” Just him showing up on the sidewalk surrounded by press proclaiming his innocence should rankle. If ever somebody was deserving of a taste of jail, it’s this guy. ---

news on the september trial. merchan will not be the judge on that trial. from wash examiner: A court statement from Judge Ellen Biben said Merchan is no longer on the case because of a conflicting schedule. “Merchan … who is assigned to this matter, is engaged to preside over a six-defendant trial that is scheduled to commence on 09/16/24 and expected to last at least three months,” she wrote, while Bannon’s trial is set to begin on Sept. 23. I didn’t even think it would teach him a lesson. I’m now sure it didn’t. If he commits another similar crime, he’ll get a much longer term to empower him. ---
