# Steve Benson dies

I’m not familiar with his work, but the obit says he started out as a conservative cartoonist, then trended liberal, apparently making people angry at both ends of his career. I’d like to see an online retrospective.

Many years ago, Steve Benson spoke to an inter-state convention of high-school journalists (including my classmates and me) in Phoenix. I still remember his passion and conviction. In the best tradition of editorial cartoonists, he knew how to comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable. RIP.
