In a week before I start my new job, I have be regulated to passing the time watching Daytime TV. Workers! You are not missing ANYTHING! Except this crazy dude Steve on Blues Clues who tends to look like he just got a hot coffee enema with the eye bugging. Kids tv is quite freaky. I say when you have a lil blue dog and flowers talking back to you, you need to check the dosage * * * I know that I have put you through hell, and I know that I have been one rough pecker. Steve is very popular in my house. I have a 2 1/2 year old child. Personally, I rather like the guy. I’d like to buy him a beer someday. As for sex, well, there is one episode of _Blue’s Clues_ that leaves an adult wondering. It’s called _Blue’s Pajama Party._ It’s a good show, really, with Julia Louis-Dreyfus making a guest appearance. She is invited to the pajama party. She shows up after everyone has already gone to bed. Steve opens the door, and there she is, in her (perfectly respectable) jammies, with a storybook. She and Steve sit down and talk for a minute, then she reads Steve this (perfectly respectable) bedtime story. Steve likes it, and asks her to read it again. The show leaves off with her reading this story again. That’s it. Julia and Steve, alone together in their jammies, reading bedtime stories in the living room. I’m not going to get all Freudian about it. Hey, it’s a kids show. But all I wanted to say when I saw it was “Woohoo! Go Steve!” 😉 ---

I find Steve a little on the odd side (buy hey, compare him to Fred Rogers…) but I had a daughter who really dug Steve and Blue a year or so ago. Kinda shocking to hear about female finding him _sexy_. To riff on ChiefScott’s idea, give me Zoom …or Electric Company… or (hallelujah!) Captain Kangeroo… or even (god help me) the New Zoo Review. Amen to that… When I see these kid’s show hosts I always have the following series of thoughts: - Well, it’s great that _somebody_ is doing it, cause it’s good for the kids. - How hard up for work were they when their agent offered them this job? - Thank god it’s not me. - I hope they’re getting paid a hell of a lot to make such a fool out of themselves. Sigh. I was trying so hard to be a “good mom,” and not admit this, but others already have, so what they hey. I think Steve has a very fine butt, and if I were single, yeah, I do him. I always liked Steve, too, in a hot monkey sex kind of way. Being an “at work all day and no kids” kind of person, I don’t have much excuse to watch it, but I loved seeing it when I was unemployed and lived next door to 3 preschoolers.
