[This article](http://money.cnn.com/2004/12/14/news/newsmakers/pot_candy/index.htm) is about marijuana-flavored candy and how lawmen are trying to get it banned from the market. As ridiculous as the marijuana prohibition is, it’s far more ridiculous that marijuana-flavored candy that doesn’t contain any THC is coming under fire for promoting an “unhealthy” drug culture. Yeah, marijuana candy is unhealthy, but all the other candy, cakes, pies, chips, and SHIT that is marketed towards children is perfectly OK. What I want to know is, on what grounds could these cunts actually ban the marijuana candy? If it doesn’t contain THC how could it possibly be illegal? Also, where can I buy it? I never see it sold around here. ---

Reminds me of a conversation I had with my recovering alcoholic father. We had been for some time estranged, and the first moments were awkward. I noticed the restaraunt we were in sold Kaliber beer, a non-alcohol brew. I recommended it, saying something like “Look, here, this has no booze in it, and yet tastes just like real beer!” He gave me an odd look, smiled, and said “Son, you think I drank beer because I liked the way it tastes?” ---

Aren’t there some laws about selling fake or look-a-like drugs? For example, selling a sheet of ordinary blotter paper as acid, even though it’s really just paper. Surely they could twist those around to cover it. It seems that as long as Drugs (evil! bad! fnord) are the target, nobody really cares what they do. It may vary by state, but I think there are some such laws around here. ---

THC is fat soluble, not water soluble. It’s also soluble in acetone, but so is just about everything. And you have to remove the acetone before you consume it. Or not and win a Darwin Award.) I’ve eaten actual pot candy made with actual pot. It’s not tasty in the least, even with all the sugar. I can’t imagine anyone would want to eat anything like it without the benefit of the buzz. I do like the taste of pot in baked goods, though. I don’t think there’s much of anything that doesn’t taste good in chocolate. But of course I’d never advocate the ingestion of an illegal substance. :wally ---

Properly made cannabis ghee (or “pot butter,” if you prefer, is very pleasant-tasting. (A favourite winter treat around these parts is hot chocolate made with green ghee. Mmmm… chocolate, sugar, and herb.) A nice cannabis _genoise_ is perfectly scrumptious, too – and I’d eat it a lot more frequently if it didn’t tend to puddle me. Of course, some people make “pot butter” that is just schwag mixed with butter – maybe strained afterwards. I imagine that _would_ taste nasty.
