# Sticker removal

I unpacked my new Samsung ML-1430 laser printer today. It has stickers on various parts of the case describing certain functions. They won’t peel off properly. I have had this problem before on other products. You can’t scrape them because it scratches the plastic. Certain solvents will also cut the plastic. Do you have any solutions?

Yeah, try a blow dryer, and let the sticker get nice and warm and then peel very slowly as you apply the heat.
A heat gun will also work, but be careful not to get the other parts too hot.

**UnDu**. You can find it in craft and fabric stores. Walmart carries it too. You can find it in the craft or scrapbooking areas. It’s made specifically for removing stickers without damaging the surface beneath. Good luck!

Use something like GooGone or De-Solv-It. Put it on a cotton ball or something and dab away carefully.
They sell it at the grocery store by the cleaning supplies, also at hardware stores.
You can also use any oil–baby oil, cooking oil–but I’d be hesitant to use oil around a sensitive piece of electronic machinery like a printer.

I’ve had good luck with rubbing alcohol on some adhesives. YMMV, though.

I have found that soaking the sticker in oil works. DW40 or olive oil. (I like olive oil for woods.)

Zippo lighter fluid also works wonders with stickers and I’ve never had any issues with discoloration or “eating away” the surface, 'though it will smell like crap for at least a half-hour.

Hot vinegar works good. Just nuke it in the microwave and apply.
