Tape the glue trap to the floor with duct tape. Catch a rodent? Put trap and rodent inside plastic grocery store bags. Whack the bag against a telephone pole like you’re swinging a baseball bat. Not too hard or you split the bags and you got a messy problem. Drop bag in garbage bin.
Glue traps really need to be in their pathways. You can block off all other routes with boxes, etc so their only route is over the trap. They tend to like the edges of rooms next to the walls. A kernel of dog or cat food in the center of the trap also helps.
