Funerals I can do without question but I would need a note from my Bishop to do Whiskeypalian Wedding. Since someone at his church may want the honor how about I just bring explosives and various things that go boom? I got lots of stuff that qualifies and I can drive down avoiding those TSA people altogether. ---

Given that I’m currently living in the European capital of fireworks\*, maybe I could help with the explosives. Assuming those Customs people let me bring them in, I mean. - How can you tell a baby is from the Valencia region? It gurgles happily whenever there is a bunch of explosions. ---

I once went to a sorta wedding\* where they’d allocated everyone roles, including a father of the bride who was clearly younger than the actual bride (but played the role extremely convincingly), and picking a guy to be the groom’s drunken ex, who was given the job of trying to disrupt the ceremony. I wound up as the florist, but in the absence of any actual flowers or budget, they got an origami bouquet. The event we were at was a festival, and three actual weddings were taking place on site as well that day, so random members of the public occasionally just wandered in and got thoroughly confused… One of the most entertaining things I’ve ever been at. I volunteer to bring the silly. Alternatively, if no further silly is required, I can securitate. In other news, I’m actually going into skool today, even though it’s holidays. They’re open, and I’m meeting up with a friend, in the hope we’ll actually get on with home-irk. I’m not sure I’m doing this studenting right. \*Basically one was English, one was Aussie, both were circus performers. They couldn’t afford a big enough wedding to invite all friends from both countries when they actually married, so they had a tiny ceremony with just close family, then for the next year when they were at an event attended by lots of their friends, they’d suddenly declare thact they were getting married again. ---

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. _YAWN_ ‘Tis 66 Amurrkin out and cloudy (well, dark) with a predicted high of \ 69! \ and rain/tstorms/apocalypse for the day. We shall see. I need to lay in provisions so I shall partake of geezer day at the Pubic Sto’ and go to the Harvey’s Sto’ for some specials there. Ham, bean ‘n tater soup with cornbread shall be supped upon tonight. This weekend I shall make two ham pot pies, one for us and one for a friend to take to her sister who has been through yet another round of chemo. I asked my friend to ask her if she’d like one and friend told me her sister and husband like ham pot pie and would enjoy havin’ one to eat. Happy Hump Day! It’s a rainy 52 degrees outside. I woke too early today, thanks to the cat meowing his fool head off, but that is okay. I got some stuff done before starting irk. Ripple is stupid. I was cleaning with vinegar and he grabbed a vinegar soaked paper towel and tried to eat it. Dumb ass. I told him to leave it, but he has to learn the hard way. The damn dog will eat anything, except for his heart worm and flea medicine. Nice chewy treats. he eyes them suspiciously and walks away. I squirt cheese on them and he licks the cheese off and walks away. He didn’t get a good nap yesterday and was wired well into the evening. He’d be running and playing, then just drop and fall asleep. For about two minutes. and then he was up running again. Worse than having a toddler around the house. Everytime we thought, oh good he’s asleep, we can get something done, nope, he is up and running again. I’d for sure drive to Georgia for **Swampy’s** wedding. Not much I can do to contribute to the festivities though. Still have lots to do around here and it seems like nothing is getting done. It’s seems like it is one thing or another pucking my nerves lately. ---

Yeppers — I’sa “Elk-a”. I’m Rostered Laity/Worship Lead/Supply and not a full Pastor. Because of some of the issues that popped up before we decided the whole sex issue, and surprised even ourselves by admitting that Lutherans _have_ sex, the rule was put in place that people in my place can bury pretty much anyone they want whenever they want but for weddings we have to inform our Synod Bishop and for any outside the ELCA we need formal permission even among those denominations (like yours) we are in Full Communion with. I’m honestly not positive how the current TPTB feel but even for the one we did up here, even though I was not formally “officiating”, I clued in the Synod Staff what was going on. I have been weak on that begging for forgiveness thing since that whole “funeral for an amusement park ride” incident when The New Guy first took over. 😉 ---

Bah, Humpday. Just a general grumpiness, not sick or sore or anything. We got rain and thunder-boomers last night (winds got up to 70MPH) and the temperature is cooler, but still sunny outside. Maybe I’m just mad at myself for not being able to get through to my 8-9 year old girls soccer team; I try to teach them positions and work on drills and even raise my voice a bit to correct them and once the game starts they still run over the field in a bunch and ignore any sort of positioning. Guess I need to go up to the older ages, who at least have different ways to drive me crazy… As for any potential nuptials, I can play the weird old uncle everybody talks about (but heck, that includes most of our MMP male crew) and gofer. OK, I’m going to go fight with my insurance company now, so me being grumpy can have some useful purpose. ---
