Bump question: I already filed 2019 taxes but used credit-card to pay the amount of additional taxes I owed. Does this affect the stimulus-check distribution method?

I did leave banking info on file for the IRS in 2018 or prior returns, but not sure they’ll use it for the stimulus checks.

I would bet that they will direct deposit the amount into the bank account they have on file.
Around about the 17th, you should be able to check on [this page](https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/economic-impact-payments), using the button on the right for Filers when it becomes active.
Heck, apparently people are already getting the payment deposited; it may land in your account before then.

> I am not sure what your living situation is, but in New Jersey, no one can be evicted for nonpayment of rent during this crisis and there is a 90 day grace period on mortgage payments. Also any late fees have to be waved and your credit cannot be negatively impacted. So if you pay rent or a mortgage, you can postpone that expense.

Only on Fannie & Freddie mortgages, which are about half of the mortgages out there. It is not all lenders.

We have no issues paying our mortgage, but if we were in that position, our lender is definitely not offering a 90 day grace period, waiver of late fees or non-reporting.

You may be technically right but it does seem that most lenders are getting on board:

> Millions of hardworking New Jerseyans are suffering financial losses through no fault of their own as a result of the economic downturn brought on by COVID-19,” said Governor Murphy. “With this initiative, we can ensure that no one loses their home during this public health crisis. I commend our private sector partners for doing their part to reduce financial uncertainty for New Jersey families.”
>
> Building on a similar initiative in California, Governor Murphy secured support from Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase, U.S. Bank, Wells Fargo, and Bank of America, in addition to over 40 other federal and state-chartered banks, credit unions, and servicers to protect New Jersey homeowners. More financial institutions are expected to sign on in the coming days. The New Jersey Bankers Association, CrossState Credit Union Association and the Mortgage Bankers Association of New Jersey have endorsed this initiative and are encouraging all their members to adopt these policies.
