My daugther’s dox was named Winifred (she wanted a boy and was going to name him Fred), but we called her Wendy…Wendy the Wonderful Wiener Dog. ---

Cute puppy!!! My favorite German names are Anneliese (ahn na leeza) and Ingeborg, shortened to Inge (ing guh) when she is good. Both are very musical sounding, which is good in dog names. I love the suggestion earlier of Schatze. It is a great affectionate nickname and definitely what I would name my doxie. BTW, a German pronounces Gretel more like grate uhl, not grett el, like an American would. ---

She is precious! My favorite pose is the one where her head is tilted a little to the side - classic dashshund look. I nominate the name Honey. She’s a little Honey. Greta is very nice too. I have two dachies now - Shadow’s in my lap snoozing. (I’m pretty good at typing one-handed by now). ---

Of course you may pet the puppy ('cause I totally owe you one on that Stella thing)! Name selection update: Stella was wrung out of him, but in return Stonebow vetoed Gretel. We may give up on German names. My husband also expressed a wish for something that will shorten nicely, so… Wilhelmina (Meena) Penelope (Penny) Merryweather (Merry) Honey and a late nomination from another source, Minerva (Minnie) ---
