I have to give them some slack in that they had no time to do any practice on that stage with those acoustics. There’s a lot of adjustments that they really had no chance to make to improve the technical quality of the sound. The set list could have been improved. I’d have led off with Street Fighting Man, then Start Me Up and then Satisfaction. That second song was a little obscure for most of us and the censoring didn’t help. ---

What I couldn’t figure out was why Mick Jagger didn’t even attempt to carry out the note for “cry” in “You make a grown man cry.” Every time he sang that note last night, I cringed. He sounded like one of those _American Idol_ wannabes trying to sing a Stones song. ---

Well I thought they were fantastic! For the venue, I didn’t think they sounded bad at all. No one works the stage like Mick Jagger. I’ve never seen anyone over 50 (let alone 60) with the energy level and enthusiasm that Mick displayed last night (and every night he is one stage). The guy is a freak of nature! As usual, Keith, Ron, and Charlie were spot on. And Keith looked like he was really having a lot of fun. And I loved that stage setup. Awesome. The final bow almost had me in tears. 40+ years built up to that moment. I wonder if I’ll ever see them again. Rock on Stones! ---

I know I’m gonna get slaughtered for sayin’ this, but I really do think it’s time for the Stones to hang it up. It’s just ridicuous to see a 60-year-old man trying to act like a young stud. Watching Mick prance on the stage was as creepy as watching Mae West in her '70’s still trying to act like a contemporary sex symbol. Rock is a young man’s game. ---

And of those, two had to be censored for broadcast. And while “cocks” got bleeped from “Rough Justice,” I assume they still got away with “So put your lips to my hips, baby.” They’re hardly playing it safe for the networks.
