Rosanne Barr makes a racist remark about a former Obama administration woman on Twitter and is called out for it. She apologizes for her bad ‘joke’. Oh fuck no. Racists and Bullies make offensive, insulting, sexist and/or racist cracks and then immediately fall back into 'it was just a joke, relax!" No. It wasn’t a joke, it was a deliberate statement that reflects who you are and was meant to do harm. FUCK you and your ‘joke’. Wanda Sykes has already quit the show, but ABC has so far been totally silent. :mad: ---

Boy, nothing like throwing away millions of dollars because you’re too fucking stupid to not say something disgusting on Twitter. Note that it might only have been her second worst tweet of the day; she also accused George Soros of **literally** being a Nazi. The Sykes resignation surely helped ABC’s decision. If the show’s goddamn HEAD WRITER storms out the door A) There are probably more problems with that. Respected professionals with reputations to preserve are going to be shitting all over the place, even if they briefly kept it private, and B) You thus have to consider if it’s really worth trying to get the circus back together. ---

I think these idiotic tweets are just tests to see if there is still backlash. One day, perhaps there won’t be sufficient backlash to cancel a show or any other meaningful negative result. ---

I can’t understand what the right wing’s hard on for George Soros is all about. He’s a rich guy who puts his money into progressive causes. As if there were not 100 rich guys pouring money into conservative causes to every 1 for liberals. They can’t tolerate that notion that a rich person can be a liberal? ---

Its rank hypocrisy, how dare someone spend oodles of cash trying to promote the election of liberal candidates, only conservatives are allowed to do that. It may also be that they have difficulty understanding his agenda. With most conservative big donors, its pretty easy. Their donations are an investment, they give money to politicians and in exchange those politicians write legislation that lets them make even more money. The idea that someone would spend money to promote policies that don’t have obvious ties to self interest make them think that there must be something sinister going on. ---

Just saw some dumbass tweet earlier today claiming that Soros financially supported the Nazis. :smack::smack::smack: Sure, sure he did. :rolleyes: He was all of 15 years old in 1945. His family changed their name from a German-Jewish name to Soros, a Hungarian name (since they lived in Hungary) in 1936. They got Christian IDs to hide from German deportation to the death camps in 1944 when the Germans occupied Hungary. Look, just take anyone who uses Soros as an epithet and write them off as decent human beings.
