I see the wingnut whataboutism is centering on Bill Maher: why is he getting away with saying allegedly similar stuff to that which got Roseanne canned? I don’t know, and I don’t care. If the wingnuts want to protest things Maher said, they should knock themselves out. If they weren’t upset about him already, but are suddenly up in arms about him now, then why should anybody think they’re serious about any of this, except as a big ‘gotcha’ game? ---

It’s amazing what has happened on the right over the last 24 hours. _Joy Behar should’ve been fired for insulting Christians!_ You know, she said that people who hear the voice of god in their head telling them what to do should be checked for mental illness. Yes, if you actually “hear” the voice of god in your head, you’re mentally ill. _All these people insulting Trump should be fired!_ Sure, and all of the people who insulted Obama were just using their Freedom of Speech as you folks claimed at the time, right? Even when they hung him in effigy or used absolutely racist insults? Right? _Liberals insult us all the time! They should all be fired!_ Let us know when all those Conservatives who call Liberals ‘sub-human’ or ‘not people’ (see Don Jr’s regular tweets) or say Liberals should be shot are fired from their jobs. _Soros was a Nazi! He admitted helping the Nazis!_ What the FUCK does this have to do with anything? Besides the fact that he was conscripted to deliver reporting notices to area Jews in 1944 (at the age of 14) and was also instructed by good people to let those people know at the same time that if they did report in, they would be deported to the camps. _You’re just a brainwashed Liberal and blah blah blah_ People posting deliberately false information without verifying it’s truth, then brushing off corrections and facts by declaring the other person is “brainwashed” and a slew of other insults. Got no respect for that. ---

I kind of wish they had fired Barr and then cast a black woman to play her character. Make such a radical change and then have it go totally unacknowledged. Having a ardent black female Trump supporter as a sitcom protagonist defies expectations enough to be funny all its own; you could make something out of this even if you didn’t have very talented writers to work with. What a missed opportunity. ---
