ABC is going to lose a lot of money and ratings over firing her, but it’s the right thing to do. This reminds me of the NFL situation, when the players are doing something bad for business, and when a majority of Americans think it’s never appropriate to disrespect the anthem, then they have the right to act to save their businesses as well. ---

Roseanne wasn’t the instigator for re-starting the show, the presumably pretty liberal Sara Gilbert was. And though I haven’t watched it, by all accounts it wasn’t a full-on political bash-fest and covered multiple bases. Nothing wrong with that. You ever get part way through posting here, or perhaps a response to a Facebook post and think: “Nah. I probably shouldn’t say that”? So, you delete it and move on with your life. Now, imagine how fucking racist and bigoted you would have to be to actually compose what Roseanne did, and then hit “post.” (Or whatever you hit on Twitter.) A cross between the Muslim Brotherhood and Planet of the Apes? That’s some seriously fucked-up bigotry. ---

Neither one has been especially busy over the past decade. I don’t know how it works in the industry, but I would hope that the majority of the camera, lighting, sound, editing, etc. workers will be working on a pilot for next season.
