I’m very fond of John Goodman and hope, because I’ve never heard anything bad about him, he’s a decent guy. I also like Laurie Metcalf, she seems to be getting some interesting work. Lots of tangled threads here. Goodman and Sykes did a season of “Alpha House” on Amazon. I hope it was renewed, It’s a fun show and they’re great together. I really liked Roseanne in the early years (show and actress) and I had some loose connections with her in Utah. Honestly, my heart’s a teeny bit broken that she is now a confirmed abhorrent person. Ain’t no coming back with me, even if she blames it on mental illness (which I think could be an excuse coming down the line). ---

It’s kinda sad considering the liberal advances the show made in the 90’s. Roseanne’s(the character) boss married another man, her sister came out of the closet, her daughter participated in one of the first on screen lesbian kisses. It was kinda weird hearing about the show with Roseanne coming back as a Trump supporter for no explicable reason. It didn’t fit the previous character development. I never really liked the show, I don’t find her style of comedy very entertaining but I can see why people did. It sucks for everyone involved in the shows relaunch. They weren’t involved in the racist tirade yet they are all out of work just the same. Screw Roseanne Barr, I hope she disappears into obscurity. Screw Mr. Smashy too, hopefully he joins Roseanne in her disappearance. He’s just trying to derail this thread for no apparent reason. ---

I really liked the new show. And part of it was that it was refreshing having a Trumpist as a major character. Especially with an over-the-top cliche tree-hugger sister. But I’m so glad ABC had the guts to cancel it. That’s what this entire country needs, to have enough people stand up and say “_This_ is over the line! This needs to stop\*.”\* (Oh, and I have opinions on the NFL. Which I will keep to myself until I find the proper thread to dump them into…) ---

I watched her reality show about her on her nut farm in Hawaii back in 2011. And she did come off as, off. One episode her kids and boyfriend did something nice for her, I forget exactly what but it involved them moving a lot of furniture outside and then they did their thing and were moving the stuff back in but she came home early and caught them right at the end and she was really pissed off. Everyone was trying to calm her down and explain that the furniture was outside because of this nice thing they did for her and she wouldn’t calm down. I remember they interviewed the adult daughter about it and she said something like her mom has always been a bit crazy. I was aware of Roseanne’s idiot tweeting in the past and worried that it might come back to get her because I like the original show and the return. It sucks that she let her tardedness kill the show and all those jobs. I was really looking forward to seeing the rest of the cast all together again and playing off of each other again. I’ve seen mention around the internets people suggesting to kill off Roseanne in the show and change the name to Dan and just let it keep going. I would totally watch that. ---
