Most beauty queens start as infants and are pushed to keep it up by controlling mothers. I speak as someone with some experience in the matter in my youth. But, 'nuff said on that. I do think she is smart to push back against this new pagent exec who obviously has something against her that isn’t entirely disinterested. ---

She is way too skinny…I’d say she needs to pack on some tacos. Perhaps some refried beans as well (don’t forget the lard…it’s VERY important for packing on the pounds in the right places. Everything is better with lard!). Maybe a few tamales. And, personally, I like mute instead of moot. It shows a certain lack of education and refinement that I enjoy. I also like axing questions and putting the distinctive ‘x’ in eXHpecially. -XT ---

Those who work in the fashion and beauty industries can attempt to impose certain standards of beauty (though as is clear whenever models’ weight comes up, they are all under the impression they’re ‘just following orders’), but those who also work in the industry, related industries such as advertising and entertainment, are its target audience, consume its goods or are simply influenced by it (read: just about everyone) have a right to complain and shame. Or even just ask that the law get involved (e.g. child pornography laws, child labor laws). ---

SFG, no lie; I think she is gorgeous. But I hate to see someone brought up to value only their looks. Looks fade - or are botoxed into scary facsimiles thereof (Nicole Kidman anyone?). It’s obvious that she is NOT overweight, and she has a lot more going for her than her looks and yet she is told to lay off the tacos. I’d want to know a whole lot more about the whole case if I were being asked to make a real judgement. In the meantime, good for her for asserting her position instead of letting herself be walked on. If that had happened to me at her age, I might have retired to a closet for the next ten years. ---
