Someone told you that COLLINS was the quietest, most studious dorm? What were they smoking?! I’ve always heard it was a pretty “hippy” place to be. I lived in Read my three semesters and LOVED it. It’s the music/art dorm, and pretty quiet. I’d put in a transfer request with RPS. ---

Could be worse. I started out in “Disco” Briscoe. That was pretty awful. Then I moved to Reed, which was better, although the frisbee games in the halls at 2:00 in the morning were kind of annoying. Then I moved to Collins, and it was actually the quietest of the three. It _is_ a lot of artsy-fartsy geeks, though. Of course, things may have changed in 20 years. 😉 Jesus, I’m old. ---

The OP reminds me of the commercial (don’t know which one, I had the sound muted) of the girl in the dorm trying to study, but above her a bunch of students had turned their hallway into a giant slip-n-slide. The blasting rock music was shaking her room and the water was starting to drip through the ceiling. I thought it was commercial hyperbole, but the OP makes it sound like real life. How can one possibly live and study like that? ---

Except on weekends, when there weren’t any rules about being quiet. It was such a relief to move off campus.
