My car has been keyed on three separate occasions in the last two months. This last time I wasn’t even driving it, and we were away from home. WHY does everyone hate me so much? I don’t cut people off. I have very rarely parked a bit crazily (always between the lines though), but the times I’ve gotten keyed I was parked just fine, didn’t “beat someone out” for the space or anything like that. Is there something about a nice new car with a pretty paint job that brings out the destructo-impulse in people? Is a black Toyota Corolla the some sort of defacer catnip? What have I done to deserve this? It’s so frustrating, because as far as I can tell none of this is my fault. There doesn’t seem to be any behavior I can modify to cut down on this mess. All I can do is sit back and wait for it to be keyed again ☹ . ---

Because people are idiots and are jealous. Luckily, they haven’t done it to my car yet. I know someone who had a Honda Civic del sol that was keyed, even at her place of employment, which is supposed to be professional place. I can’t believe a government worker would do that. Anyway, people are just jerks and that’s why. I would buy a tarp or cover to put over your car. ---

You know, I’m really sick of this kind of crap too. I’m always respectful of other people’s stuff, and I’m a generally nice person. So what happens when my boyfriend asks me to watch his car for him while he’s out of town? Someone put these _huge_ swirly scratches on it. Dozens of them. It’s a brand-new black car, and they really show. Yesterday when I went outside to go to the store I saw that someone had done it again. Yes, they scratched his car the same way twice. Bastards. ---

I remember when someone bent the aerial (sp?) on my car onece, for no other reason than sheer fuck-witted vandalsim. i feel your pain, **Super Gnat** , I just just don’t understand why people commit this kind of petty and mindless destruction. i mean it’s not like they’re making any money off it, right? I haven’t seen anyone standing on a street corner selling ripped-off aerials. Dammit, it makes me so mad! ARRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHH! I swear that if I ever caught someone doing that to my car again, I’d hop in, rev it up and run 'em over ---

3 times? That’s not “people” that’s “person”. Sounds like you have an enemy or two. Either that or **Wikkit** may be on to something. Third option is some sort of crazy public art program, but hardly seems likely. ---

I’ve had the front fender panel of my car (a '93 Saturn) get a hole kicked/punched/? in it. I’ve also had the antenna bent 90 degrees, so it was parallel to the pavement. I was still in college at the time, and parked on the street in a college neighborhood. It really frustrated me, because if I can’t afford a private parking spot, did they really think I’d be able to afford having a hole put in my car. And if I can’t afford to get that fixed, does that mean I can afford to get the antenna replaced? I’m so glad to be out of college and out of a student neighborhood. ---

You’re probably not aware of something you did. Just because you’re parked “between the lines” does’nt neccessarily mean that you didn’t encroach on the car to the right of you. If they can’t open their door fully, you’re too close. Ever try to get a baby into a car seat when you can’t open the door fully. Just something to think about.
