Stop signs: always 4-way???

Providence, RI is one of the most dangerous places to drive in the US because it has a plethora of two way stops and there are always tons of cars on the streets.

That means people who are stopped have to inch out into the intersection to see around the parked cars on the street to see if a car is coming. The other problem is those who deem it necessary to come to a complete stop on the road with no stop signs or, to the other extreme, zoom through them at 40 miles an hour withou checking for the inching-forward cars.
I have nearly been in 3 accidentts this month because of this damn two way stop sign system. They should just put in 4 way stops and make everyone’s life easier and safer.

I guess changing from a 2-way to a 4-way stop is a bigger deal than I thought.

I came across this on the web.

If you don’t wish to read the link, it’s a case about the estate of a woman who was killed in an accident when a four-way stop was changed to a two-way stop. It happened in Louisiana. The governing agency there was held liable for not posting adequate warnings.

So, Stuyguy, I think I understand what you’re getting at now. I think I will just ignore the people honking at me and approach each intersection with extreme caution.
