# Storing CDs as images on a PC

Windows 7 will burn not only media bu also .iso disc images to cd/DVD (finally!). I also use Nero, but I’m going to try some of the alternatives mentioned here. Because it is major bloatware.

Actually if you have a decent sized drive, keeping .iso’s of mission critical software is a very good idea to help protect against lost or damaged CD’s.
