# Straight Dope chat on AOL

It’s on AOL. We all know AOL sucks ass. We all know not everyone uses AOL. We also all know that there are a million ways to chat on the internet where AOL users and the smarter people who use other ISPs can happilly commingle. And of most importance to Cecil and Ed, AOL dropped them like a bad habit, so why continue to do any business with those assholes?

Seems like making it an Internet chat is a win-win-win situation!

Hear, hear. When I first heard SD was going virtual I was ecstatic. Then I found out I couldn’t access it w/o giving AOL money. Not to impugn Ed’s and Cecil’s decision, but you’re right, o Prince of Darkness. The SD-on-AOL era is over.
