So now that Civ III “Play the World” is finally out, when are some Dopes going to arrange a time to get together and invade, pillage, plunder and just generally backstab one another, hmmm? Who’s got some hours to kill and wants to play global conquest? Let’s arrange some wars. ---

I have a copy in my grubby little hands. I propose that we find a all-day Saturday where the most people can play, have the participants clear their schedules, and starting at, say, 9 am eastern time, we play for 12 hours straight. Better than playing for an hour here, or two hours there. ---

I’m in. Saturday at 9 am works for me, but I haven’t done in Doper style before (insert double-entendre here), so I’ll need a bit more information. I have played both electronic and board game versions. CJ ---

I would but I can not express to you how absolutely horrible I am at Civilization. I have consistently sucked at every version starting from Civ I. I was bad at SMAC too. Anything above Warlord level brings to me severe and quick humility. You kids have fun though. Can you save replays like Starcraft? [sub]…which i also suck at…[/sub] ---

**Alphagene** , I also play at Warlord level. How about getting together for a cooperative game? I’d have to get the expansion first, of course. Just bought RCT2 so I’m can’t get anything else for a while. ---

Hmmm. I’m tested it. It doesn’t work, folks. The game allows Internet play only through Gamespy. It crashes repeatedly - this isn’t just my system, it’s everyone - and when it does work the lag is literally unplayable. Lag times of 20 seconds between user inputs are the norm. They released a patch _the day the game was released_ and it still doesn’t work. It’s not in a playable state. DO NOT BUY IT if you haven’t already. My apologies if anyone bought it because I started the thread. ---

I’ll still buy it if only to get the extra tribes. The Celts sound like the most compatible for my usual strategy but I’ll also give the Vikings a try of course. ---

Hmm. So who has a copy of Civ2 multiplayer and wants to give that a try instead?
