Cafe Press was the first thing that came to my mind too. It seems an almost no-brainer to set up a storefront there. I’m tragic enough to want a mug. ---

So SD stuff would probably be limited to the logo with the SD colors and the SD motto. ---

Yep, and these days there are tons of “on demand” merch options. The problem is that none of them are cheap since the stores take their cuts up front. On the other hand, they do nicely circumvent all those silly arguments about inventory and, you know, hard work. Upload a few files with the logo and you’re good to go. Shirts! Mugs! Keychains! Marital aids! ---

Because apparently, while selling merch is so easy it keeps death metal bands solvent, the formula continues to escape the PTB on the SD! (Yes, even though we’ve been asking for a full decade!) Oh, they still have some of the hideous original material. Which did not and will not sell, of course. (They can only move the mugs by giving them to the mods! ) But so far, the failure to sell that original hideous merch, is why we can never, ever again, venture into merch sales. In times past the teeming millions have begged for a plain shirt with the masthead/logo on the front, and ‘it’s taking longer than we thought’ on the back. All to no avail. (I have one that I often wear! But I made I myself!) ---

My staff mug sits in the corner, alone and unremorseful. It remains silent and still, but I caution my visitors to not be fooled, to not give in to what appears to be a peaceful innocence. “It knows what it’s done!” I plead with them to understand. “Don’t turn your back on it,” I urge them, “for, do you think it’s ever held coffee? It hasn’t, you know, not coffee, not soda, not water or wine. No rum.” They stare. “Dreams!” I fairly shout. “It devours them! _I_ wanted to be the God-King of the Moderators! _I_ wanted to command the invisible bumpy lizard people who—no, no! Don’t turn away; don’t run! It sees you when you run. It _wants_ you to run.” “Don’t you see?” The shirt? I dunno. The shirt’s probably in a closet somewhere. ---
