What is the longest straightdope thread?
What are the five or ten longest?
Is there an easy way of finding out?

Who has put up the largest number of OPs?

What is the most profound OP?

What is the most vile original posting?

Not really GQ material. “Is there an easy way to find out” could go in ATMB, but most of this stuff really belongs in MPSIMS.

**What is the longest straightdope thread?**

Probably [Guy Stuff](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=18972). It’s 23 pages.

**What are the five or ten longest?**

Hmm . . . [The Last Word](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=52997) got to 21 pages before it was locked. And there are probably lots of GD threads that get to ten pages. In the olden days I bet they got even longer.

**Is there an easy way of finding out?**

View each forum back to as long as possible. Check the “last page” feature for every thread. Get back to us.

**Who has put up the largest number of OPs?**

Catty remarks about other posters aside, it’s probably someone who’s been here since the board was first here. Bear in mind over a hundred people registered on March 12, 1999 (I think that’s the day the board as we know it started).

**What is the most profound OP?**

[This](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=67960) one worked for me . . .
