Hey Mr. DJ,

I like you. you’re smart, your funny, you dont pull punches.

me and you would have a great conversation face to face. We’d have a lot to talk about.
How I talk in real life is very different to how I post on the boards. I could use a lot of different slang that I use each and every day, but the vast majority of the people reading it would have no idea as to what the hell I’m talking about.

Would it be possible for you to tone down how you type? I know that it is a big part of your self expression, but it would greatly help you to get your point across if more people could actually understand what you say 😉

As to your OP, is this a thread of slang used by Dopers individually so that other dopers know what you are talking about if you use it in a post?

If so, may I add Amadán? Its Irish for Idiot.

Whats a ton , a weight , etc. etc.

Im only guessing at these terms but the next time im in a carpark shifting hot tv’s out of my hip camero this foo’ needs to be clued up on whats what and where it’s at wit the jive talk.

God that’s a shameful and pathetic attempt at sounding patronisingly hip. Someone just post a list please.

I am unsure whether these questions are serious, given the tone of this thread, but here are some answers, anyway:
A _score_ is £20
A _pony_ is £25
A _ton_ is £100
A _monkey_ is £500
A _grand_ is £1,000

A _weight_ varies as follows:

_one pound_ of marijuana or hashish
_one ounce_ of heroin\*

These are terms used in the UK and they may vary in the US.

</div>

Also:

Jacks (jacks alive) £5
Cock (and hen) £10
Brian (moore = score) £20
Bullseye £25
Mcgarret (from hawaii 50) £50
Carpet £300 (god alone knows why)
Archer £2000 (from jeffrey archers payment to the “brass” = prostitute)

In my manor (sarf london)the preferred term for a bag of sand (grand) is “long” or “large” As in

“What did your motor cost?”

“Five long/large”

And in terms of drug weights Coke (Gianluca Vialla or Boutros boutros ghali) comes in legs (of lamb = gramme) or henries (the 8th) and eight of an oz.

British slang. Best in the world. Innit.

I think proper pronunciation of “Audi” is key, together with improper enunciation of “out”.

Audi is properly pronounced “ow-dee”, not “ah-dee”.

Out is, of course, “owt”. As “out” is slurred and elongated into outtie, it begins to sound like Audi.

IMHO of course. 🙂

You certainly can my good fellow. Both rhyme with charlie, the common UK name for Jazz talc. Personally I prefer “Fleetwood” as in Fleetwood Mac = Gak (another slang term)

It does though because the T’s are softened into D’s. Therefore outtie becomes ouddie.

I think the “Fleetwood” reference is more towards Mick Fleetwood, Stevie Nicks et. al Legendary consumption of Bolivian marching powder, than just a rhyme with gak.

Where I live its also referred to as shake n vac.

But yes they were heroes in the war against drugs.

How exactly did Stevie Nicks persuade the roadie to do that though? Betcha it wasn’t in his contract of employment!

Well over lunch I was trying to visualize a ‘Hip-hop head’ just oozing coolness and hippness, actually say the word ‘ouddie’. Sounds more like something my 7 year old neice would say. Not being hip, which is pretty evident, does a wannabe cool hipster Hip Hop head really say that slang term, or did **dalovindj** just find an old website.

I learned it from a **Sublime** song, 1990 I think it was released. My mother was very big on propor pronunciation, so I had to learn most of my slang on the street or from songs.

Yes. Most definately. Not just me. Slang can be a fun and interesting way to communicate, but it’s alot more fun when people get it. So you and everyone should post slang terms you wish to use here.

> [@](#):

Definately:

**Amadan** - Irish for idiot.

**Juniper200** :

> [@](#):

I use plain old english all the time. But sometimes I like to give the words a little flavor. You really sweat that? Sometimes people ask me what I mean so I started this thread. Don’t get it? Ask (or look in this thread). Don’t want to get it? Then don’t ask. And if you don’t like it, when you see the title “dalovindj” next to a post, don’t read it.

**kellibelli** :

Incorrect. It is intended to be a lexicon of slang used by dopers. I, a doper, post the slang I use. A couple others have added now too. I invite all who use words in ways other than found in dictionarys to elaborate up in THIS bitch.
