i was reading a new book I picked up, [Spook](http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0393059626/qid=1134024473/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/104-4254249-3571923?s=books&v=glance&n=283155) by Mary Roach, and in one of the footnotes she mentions a conversation with Cecil Adams about [Le Petomane](http://www.johnbarber.com/pujol.html) and his rectal talents. I just thought it was interesting. 🙂 ---

I went back and found the footnote… she says she _learned_ from “The Straight Dope” columnist Cecil Adams… but the book The Straight Dope isnt listed in the bibliography(?) I read it late last night. I guess in my tiredness I assumed learned meant conversation :o assume makes an ass out of me 😃 ---

While he doesn’t mention The Straight Dope or Mr. Adams, William Gibson brings information that I believe he got from [here.](http://www.straightdope.com/classics/a1_120.html) The book is _All Tomorrow’s Parties_ and is one of my favorite Gibson books.
