February 2, 2007 marks the 34th anniversary of [The first Straight Dope column](http://www.straightdope.com/faq/firstcolumn.html), which appeared on this date in 1973. No doubt spontaneous celebrations are breaking out worldwide. Bring pie. _Anti-ignorance_ pie.
