Lesbian scenes in porn are written and directed by straight men for straight men. Gay scenes are written and directed for gay men by gay men. Neither really cares what women think. That’s the big difference between the gay-themed manga in Japan (commonly called “yaoi” in the US) and regular gay porn. Yaoi is written by women for women and so speaks to the things women are more likely to enjoy: character development, romance, etc. (yes, yes, not every women I realize but there do seem to be differences in the types of erotica men and women tend to like) I collect yaoi manga and I’ve got a few titles that were actual gay manga (written by gay men for gay men) and the difference is startling. Gay manga is all big burly guys with huge penises boffing each other; yaoi manga usually has willowy, “cute” guys having relationships (usually with some nakedness and boffing as well). To answer the OP’s question: yes, I enjoy male romances, even explicit ones but I’m not a huge fan of gay porn, it seems to be too mechanical and I find it boring after more than a few minutes. I like gay-themed movies that have a romance like _My Beautiful Laundrette_, _Maurice_, _Brokeback Mountain_, etc. I also avidly read slash which, as **Cat Fight** pointed out, is a huge genre of fan fiction and written primarily by women so it’s not an uncommon preference. ---

I don’t doubt there’s a market for straight guys who like ‘real’ lesbians, even ones who don’t use phallic-shaped sex toys, but I also know porn stars who’ll only do all-girl scenes make less money, and all-girl porn movies are often seen as ‘anti-climatic’ by industry folk if a guy never enters into the picture. ---

A bit off topic, but I’m a male who just doesn’t see the big deal in lesbian porn. I watch a lot of porn, and I’ll skip lesbian scenes. Don’t get me wrong, boobs in almost any situation are great. But if there’s straight sex just a little bit further in the show, why waste my time watching lesbians? ---

Nope, not at all. It doesn’t gross me out, but I am utterly uninterested. Not hardcore, not softcore, not yaoi (I’m part of an unrelated interest group in which like 75% of participants totally love yaoi, and I have nothing to talk about when they constantly discuss it.
